AI Chatbot for Web Agencies: Add a Chat to Every Client Site

Clients ask agencies for the same upgrade again and again: a way for visitors to get answers at any hour, from the client's own content, without a developer adding a new system every time. An AI chat can do that, but an agency has an extra problem. Every client needs their own content, their own conversations and their own look, and nothing may cross between them. This guide shows how an agency can set up an AI chat for a client site in five steps, and keep every client separate.

Step 1: Create a workspace for the client

Create a separate workspace for each client from the switcher in the sidebar. Each workspace holds its own agents, knowledge, conversations, contacts, integrations and settings, with its own plan and usage. Conversations, contacts and knowledge never cross between client workspaces. Your own team can belong to all of them and move between them from one login. Keep in mind that every workspace after your first free one needs a paid plan: upgrade a workspace before you create the next.

Step 2: Build the chat from the client's own pages

Enter the client's address and choose the pages that matter, such as services, pricing, FAQ, policies and contact. You can add a PDF or Word document the client gives you, such as a brochure or a policy sheet, as a file. Pages behind a login cannot be read. Each answer comes with a numbered source next to the sentence, so the client's visitors can open the page behind it, and by default the chat answers only from the sources you added. Your website is re-read on a schedule, so answers follow the client's pages when they change.

Step 3: Make it look like the client's brand

While OneType reads the site, it picks up the site's name, main color, language and icon and drafts the chat. Pick one of 134 chat templates, then add the client's logo, name, greeting and starter questions. Nothing reaches the site until you publish, and changes stay in the preview until you apply them. Use the live test to ask the questions the client's visitors ask, including one the site does not answer, so the client sees an honest "I don't know" instead of an invented reply.

Step 4: Install it and lock it to the client's domains

Add the one script line to the client's site, just above the closing body tag, or in the footer code of the builder they use. OneType shows when the site first loads the chat. In the agent's security settings, add the domains where the chat may run, up to 50. The chat does not start on any other site, even if someone copies the script tag.

Step 5: Invite the client and show results

Invite your team to each workspace separately, and invite the client only to theirs. Roles are clear: members answer and edit, admins publish and invite, owners manage billing. A client sees only the conversations, leads and settings of their own workspace. To show results before and after launch, use ticket replay, the readiness score and the value report, which give clients plain numbers. When the project ends, a handover is simple: make the client an owner, then leave the workspace.
