In short

  • You choose what it reads.OneType shows every page it found, grouped by section, and reads nothing until you confirm.
  • Listings are flagged for you.Tag, category, archive and pagination pages are marked as usually not useful for answers.
  • JavaScript sites work too.Pages that need a browser to show their text are opened in one before they are read.
  • Polite to your server.OneTypeBot follows robots.txt and reads at most one page a second from your site.

Your website already answers most of the questions your visitors ask. The trouble is that people have to find the right page. OneType reads your site once, keeps what it learned, and lets your agent answer from it in plain words, with a link back to the page.

Start with your address

Add a Website source and enter your address. OneType looks at your sitemap and follows the links on your site to find its pages, and you can watch the count grow as it goes. If you only want part of the site, add paths it should stay under, like /docs/**, or paths to skip, like /blog/**.

Nothing is read into your agent yet. First you decide.

Choose the pages that matter

The pages found are grouped by section, such as /pricing, /help or /blog. Tick a whole section, open it to pick single pages, or search by address. Sections that are mostly listings, like tag, category, author and archive pages or page 2, 3 and 4 of a list, are marked "Usually not useful for answers" so you can leave them out. A counter shows how many pages you picked and how many your plan still has room for.

  • Enter your website address.
  • Wait while OneType finds your pages.
  • Untick the sections and pages you do not need.
  • Confirm, and reading starts.

Reading your pages well

OneType keeps the useful part of each page: headings, lists, tables and code. Menus and footers that repeat on most pages are dropped. Accordions and tabs are kept, because real FAQs often live there. Text hidden with tricks, which is where planted instructions like to hide, is removed.

Sites built with JavaScript are handled. When a page shows almost no text, OneType opens it in a real browser and reads what a visitor would see. Pages that repeat another page are read once.

On the first read, your agent can start answering before every page is done. The homepage and the pages closest to it are read first.

Respectful and honest about problems

OneType reads your site as OneTypeBot. It follows your robots.txt, never reads faster than one page a second from your site, and waits longer if robots.txt asks it to. If a page cannot be read, you see why in plain words: a firewall turned OneTypeBot away, the page needs a login, it asks not to be indexed, or it is over 5 MB. When a whole site cannot be read, you get a way forward, such as trying again, using your sitemap, listing single pages or uploading files instead.

Other ways to add web pages

If you prefer, add a Sitemap source to read exactly the pages your sitemap lists, or add Single pages with up to 100 addresses and nothing else. Single pages can be on any site.

Limits to know

OneType reads public pages only, never behind a login or on a private network. A website source starts at 500 pages, and you can raise it when you need more. Your workspace keeps up to 100 knowledge pages on Free, 500 to 50,000 on Premium by size, no limit on Enterprise.

What each plan includes, and how AI credits work, is on the pricing page.

Questions, answered.

Nothing is read until you confirm the list. You can untick sections or single pages, and set paths to include or skip before it starts.
