In short
- Drafts stay private.Your site shows only published versions, never work in progress.
- Checks before publishing.Low contrast and missing translations are flagged first.
- Every version kept. Each publish becomes a numbered version with an optional note.
- One-click roll back.Make an earlier version live again without touching your draft.
Changing a chat that real visitors use should never feel risky. With the visual editor, which is coming soon, OneType separates what you are working on from what your visitors see. You experiment in a draft, publish on purpose, and always have a way back.
Work in a draft
Everything you change in the visual editor is saved to a draft automatically. Your site keeps showing the last published version until you decide otherwise, so you can try ideas over several days without anyone noticing. Each change is saved a moment after you make it, and the editor shows when it was last saved.
Checks before you publish
When you press Publish, OneType checks your draft first and shows the results.
- Text contrast: is body text readable on its background?
- Accent contrast: is text readable on your accent color?
- Interface contrast: are controls easy to see?
- Missing translations: does every added language have its texts?
If a check fails, publishing is blocked until you fix it or tick Publish anyway. When you publish anyway, that choice is written into the version note, so your team can see it later.
Numbered versions with notes
Each publish creates a new numbered version that never changes afterwards. Add a short note of up to 280 characters, such as "Spring campaign colors", and it appears in the version history. Your visitors see the new version within about a minute.
Preview and roll back
Open Versions to see every published version, newest first. Preview any of them on the editor's canvas, then roll back with one click to make it live again. Rolling back does not touch your draft, so the work you were doing is still there.
A typical change, step by step
- Open the visual editor and make your changes. They save to the draft.
- Check them on desktop, tablet and phone, and in states like a long answer.
- Press Publish, review the checks and add a short note.
- Your site shows the new version within about a minute.
- If something looks wrong, open Versions and roll back.
Why this matters for a live chat
Your chat talks to visitors all day. A color that looks fine on your screen can be unreadable on a phone, and a half-finished greeting can confuse customers. Drafts, checks and versions mean you can experiment freely and still keep what visitors see stable. If a change goes wrong on a busy day, one click puts the previous version back while you fix the draft in peace.
Clear responsibilities
Members can edit the draft, while only owners and admins can publish and roll back. Every publish and roll back is recorded in your workspace's audit log, so you can always see who changed what the visitors see, and when.
