You want to know how your agent answers before a customer asks. The live test puts a real conversation in the preview, so you can try the questions your visitors will ask and see the answers in the template you picked.
Real answers, not a mockup
Start a live chat in the preview. From then on, what you type goes to your real agent, which answers from your knowledge just as it would on your site. The answer streams into the preview in the template you picked.
Test while you design
It is the quickest way to check that long answers, sources and suggested questions look right in the template you picked. Change your greeting or starter questions and ask again.
- Pick a chat template for your agent and open its preview.
- Start a live chat in the preview.
- Ask the questions your visitors ask most, one at a time.
- Adjust your design or content, and ask again.
What testing costs
Test chats in the preview use AI credits, like answers on your site, so a few focused questions go a long way.
What to try
A good test mirrors what real visitors do. A few ideas:
- The three questions your support team hears most often.
- A question your website does not answer, to see how the agent handles it.
- A long question that needs a detailed answer with several sources.
- A question in another language your visitors speak.
If an answer is not what you expected, that usually points to missing or unclear content on your site rather than a design problem. Fix the content, let the agent learn it again, and ask once more. Repeat until the answers read the way you would answer yourself.
See the whole picture
The live test shows answers in the template and texts you picked. So besides checking what the agent says, you see how a real answer looks: how sources appear, and whether your greeting and suggested questions make sense before the first message.
Also part of setup
When you set up your first agent, the Try it step shows the same live chat right after OneType has read your site, so you can ask a few questions before you go live.
