In short

  • Fully separate data.Conversations, contacts, knowledge and settings never cross between workspaces.
  • Its own team.Invite different people to each workspace, with different roles.
  • Its own plan. Each workspace has its own subscription and usage.
  • Switch in the sidebar.Move between workspaces from one login, and OneType remembers your last one.

If you look after more than one business, their visitors, leads and content should never mix. OneType lets one person belong to several workspaces, each one a separate home for a brand, a client or a product.

What a workspace keeps separate

A workspace holds its own agents, knowledge, chat designs, conversations, contacts, integrations and settings. Its team is its own too: someone can be an owner in one workspace, a member in another and absent from a third. Billing is per workspace, so each one has its own plan and its own usage.

Switching and creating

  • Pick a workspace from the switcher at the top of the sidebar.
  • OneType remembers the last workspace you chose in this browser.
  • Create a new workspace from the switcher; you become its owner.
  • Invite a different team to each one from its Team page.

When you switch, everything on screen changes to that workspace, and nothing from the previous one stays behind. Invitations to other workspaces wait for you on your invitations page until you accept them.

Good for agencies and multi-brand teams

An agency can keep each client in their own workspace and invite the client's staff only to theirs. The client sees their own conversations, leads and settings, and nothing from your other clients. Your own team can belong to all of them and move between them from the sidebar.

A company with several brands can do the same: one workspace per brand, each with the support people who know that brand, its own knowledge and its own chat design. Notifications, like handoffs and new leads, stay inside the workspace they belong to, so nobody is alerted about a brand they do not work on.

Several sites in one workspace

You do not always need a new workspace. One workspace can run several agents, for example one per website or language, sharing one team and one inbox. Use separate workspaces when the businesses, teams or bills should stay apart.

Joining someone else's workspace

When a client or a colleague invites you, you join their workspace with the account you already have; you do not need a second login. The invitation is tied to your confirmed email address and works for 7 days. Once you accept, the workspace appears in your switcher next to your own, with the role you were given.

Leaving works the same way in reverse. You can leave any workspace from its Team page and keep all your others, as long as you are not its last owner.

Removing a workspace safely

Only an owner can delete a workspace, and they confirm it by typing its name and their password. A deleted workspace can be restored by an owner for 30 days. After that, all its data is erased for good.
