Getting colors, fonts and shapes to work together takes time, and it is easy to end up with text that is hard to read. Ready-made designs, coming soon with the visual editor, give you a finished, balanced look in one step.
Eighteen looks to start from
The visual editor brings 18 ready-made designs: 12 light and 6 dark. Each has its own character, from Harbor's calm navy and teal and Linen's warm paper tones to Midnight's deep navy and Neon's magenta glow.
Three light designs, Harbor, Meadow and Orchid, also follow dark mode: when a visitor's device is set to dark, they switch to their own matching dark colors.
Made for your layout
Each design lists the layouts it was made for, and the gallery shows only the designs that fit the layout you chose. The chat bubble, inline answer box and search palette offer all 18. The help page and docs sidebar offer 15, because three bold designs, Citrus, Blossom and Neon, are made for the smaller layouts only.
Point to preview, click to apply
In the editor's Designs tab, the gallery is split into light and dark. Move your pointer over a design and the preview switches to it at once, showing a long answer so you judge the look on real content. Nothing is saved while you browse. Click the one you like and it lands in your draft, with an Undo button in case you change your mind.
What a design changes, and what it leaves alone
- Changes: colors, font and shape.
- Keeps: greeting, suggested questions and other texts.
- Keeps: languages, blocks and behavior settings.
- Keeps: your layout choice and your avatar.

Keep your own accent color
If you already set an accent color, switch on Keep my accent color before you choose a design. OneType uses your color wherever it stays readable with that design. If it would be hard to read, the design's own accent is used instead and the editor tells you so.
Make it yours
A design is a starting point, not a lock. After applying one, adjust any color, the font, corner radius, density, shadows or header style in the Brand tab, and check the result on desktop, tablet and phone. Nothing reaches your site until you publish, and every published version stays in your history.
Until the visual editor arrives, the templates gallery has the ready-made looks you can use today.
