In short

  • Contacts matched by email.OneType will find the contact by email and update it, or create a new one.
  • Never downgrades a stage.Lifecycle stage becomes lead only when it is empty or subscriber.
  • Consent recorded. When the visitor ticks consent, the legal basis and when they gave it will go to HubSpot.
  • Optional transcript note. You will be able to add the conversation as a note on the contact when your team needs it.

A lead is only worth something if your team can act on it. The HubSpot integration is coming soon. Once it is offered, each identified visitor, a signed-in user your site tells OneType about, will go to HubSpot as a contact. Leads who only fill in the chat's contact form stay in OneType's Contacts, where you can export them as CSV.

How it will work

  • Once HubSpot is offered, open Settings, Integrations, and connect it. The permissions are listed before you approve.
  • From then on, each visitor your site identifies as a signed-in user is sent to HubSpot automatically.
  • Optionally, turn on Add the transcript as a note in the integration's settings.

OneType looks the contact up by email and updates it, or creates it if it is new. It sends the name, split into first and last, the phone number and the company when the visitor gave them.

Careful with your CRM data

Your HubSpot data matters more than any chat. So the lifecycle stage is set to lead only when the contact has no stage yet or is a subscriber. A customer or opportunity is never pushed back down.

If the visitor ticked the marketing consent box in the chat, OneType records the legal basis and the date they ticked it. Consent is never cleared by OneType.

The transcript as a note

Turn on the transcript note and, when the conversation closes for the first time, OneType adds one note with the chat to the contact. It holds everything the visitor typed, so leave it off unless your team needs it in HubSpot. It needs HubSpot's notes permission; if you connected before allowing it, reconnect.

Availability

HubSpot is coming soon. It is not offered on any plan yet.

What your team sees in HubSpot

A new contact will appear with the visitor's email, name, phone and company when given, and a lifecycle stage of lead if it had none. When consent was ticked, the legal basis and the date sit on the record. If you turned on the transcript note, the conversation is attached as one note, so a sales rep can read what the visitor asked before calling.

Each contact is sent once. If HubSpot is briefly unavailable, the event is tried again, and if the connection loses access, nothing is sent until you reconnect it in Settings, Integrations.

The integration talks to HubSpot only through the connection you approved. Tokens never reach your browser, and you can disconnect HubSpot from Settings, Integrations at any time.

Questions, answered.

No. It sends contacts and notes to HubSpot. It does not read contacts, deals or owners back into OneType.

Until then, export your chat leads from Contacts as a CSV file.
